Alone in the World
Lying awake at night
Gaping hole where a heart should be
Endure through days of stress
When and when not to fight?
And what in the world to do with me?
Fun and frightening is the voyage
Will it run or soon capsize?
Shove off and risk with sails unfurled
All possessions locked in storage
Foolish one who even tries?
Tricky maneuvers alone in the world

I don't know what to say...
Well, I know I'm not really alone in the whole world. Not even totally alone down here. It just feels like it a lot.
Look UP......
Mmmmmm. Good advice. God advice. The sail is full. I can't see the wind, but I know it is there. Its dangerous, but it moves me forward.
With loss comes grief...something you can't fast forward...it is a process, you just have to embrace it but as you do so, God has promised to go through it with you, so hang on to the sail and feel the wind as you look UP. He is continuing to build His story in your life. Remember the old saying "no pain no gain"...now that is a hard one to digest. This will be a story of all stories for your collection of "Stones to Remember".
Nice sentiment, but hardly balm for the heart. I can't believe there is such a healing unguant - time seems to be needed. Looking up just seems to turn into a pain in the neck. I don't know the pain you've experienced or the pain of my brother who lost his son 2-1/2 years ago, but I do know that my friends and family have been in anguish and the "God" answer (though ultimately right), does not help in the immediate pain.
